UAE Expands Global Benefits for Golden Visa Holders
The UAE Government has just announced major new benefits for Golden Visa holders — a move that significantly strengthens protection, support, and global mobility for long-term residents and their families.
A Landmark Expansion of Golden Visa Privileges
Golden Visa holders in the UAE will now enjoy an enhanced package of global consular and emergency services, providing unprecedented support anywhere in the world. Announced at the 45th edition of GITEX Global 2025, the initiative is a joint effort between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). It marks the UAE’s commitment to extending care and protection for residents far beyond its borders.
Key New Benefits for Golden Visa Holders
The expanded services apply to all Golden Visa holders and their accompanying family members, offering:
• 24/7 Emergency Assistance – round-the-clock global support through MoFA’s call centre at +971 2 493 1133.
• Immediate Passport Replacement – electronic Return Document issued instantly if a passport is lost or damaged while traveling.
• Direct Hotline Access – dedicated channels to communicate directly with UAE officials in urgent situations.
• Humanitarian & Repatriation Support – assistance in medical emergencies or the repatriation of mortal remains, ensuring families receive full support during times of crisis.
These services — once available only to UAE nationals — have now been extended to Golden Visa residents, reflecting the government’s inclusive and humanitarian approach to long-term community care.
Enhancing Global Protection and Belonging
The initiative was introduced under the “Year of Community – Hand in Hand” campaign declared by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for 2025.
According to Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary at MoFA, the program supports the UAE’s vision of becoming one of the world’s most attractive destinations for global talent. He emphasised that this step integrates services and simplifies procedures for residents, enhancing both security and well-being.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of ICP, called it a “qualitative leap in government integration” — highlighting new digital systems designed to provide smart, fast, and secure assistance to residents worldwide.
Setting a Global Benchmark
By extending full consular protection to Golden Visa holders, the UAE has set a new international benchmark for inclusive, human-centred governance. The initiative ensures that residents who have contributed to the UAE’s growth can travel and live abroad with confidence — backed by a government that continues to protect their interests globally.
